#4 qUALITY EDUCATION
Through a mandatory nonprofit training course, all interns are well-equipped with the necessary skills and knowledge to successfully complete their internship. Eco-Internships subsidize any training fees for organizations that can not afford the full training costs to ensure all interns are provided an equal opportunity to have the training and support they need to be successful.
#8 decent work and economic growth
We provide human resource and staffing support for small, grassroots organizations that lack the capacity and resources to hire staff on their own. Through our comprehensive Intern Support Program, we inform the hiring organizations of available funding opportunities and coach them through the hiring and onboarding process to hire youth interns with liveable wages, promoting decent work.
#11 sustainable cities and communities
Our Intern Support Program (ISP) has, and continues to incorporate youth and organizations all across Canada. Many of which work towards improving the environmental and sustainability initiatives within their local communities, such as housing, transportation, energy use, etc.
#13 climate action
The participants of our programs are all emerging leaders that work for grassroots organizations that directly work on a variety of environmental projects, such as energy efficiency, clean technology, conservation/protection, education, climate change & policy, etc. We believe that the environmental movement is stronger when we all work together, and support each other.
#17 partnership for the goals
We provide various networking opportunities for both interns and employers to support each other in the sector. For any employers that can not afford to hire an intern full-time, we match organizations together within our network that have similar goals & missions to form a collaboration to hire a shared intern. This not only encourages organizations to work together but provides more stable, full-time positions for interns.
